Exchange Programs

There are three major initiatives that exist within the international realm to educate youth and business professionals. They are the Outbound Exchange Program, Inbound Exchange Program and Group Study Exchange.

Outbound Exchange Program

Rotary’s Long-Term Exchange presents opportunities for students to advance their education, become a better person, and contribute to world understanding by allowing them to attend secondary school in a different country. Students live with host families in their adopted land under the sponsorship and supervision of local host Rotary Club.

Brief process:

  • Preliminary short application
  • Interview with local committee by late October/early November
  • District interview
  • Fill out entire long application

Also, there is a Short-Term Exchange program.

This is a student direct exchange. One family from US exchanges a student with another family in another country.

Rotary’s Short-Term Exchange presents opportunities for students to advance their knowledge and world understanding by allowing them to visit in a different country for a limited period of time. Participating students live with host families in their selected country for three to six weeks in the summer under the sponsorship of a local Rotary Club.

Inbound Exchange Program

Also, a school year long program where a local family in the United States hosts a student, similar to the outbound exchange program.

Group Study Exchange Program

In 2007, a team of five professional persons from Korea will tour around the district.

They will make visits to clubs, participate in vocational days, and tour local businesses and attractions.

Also, a team from the local Rotary district will visit Korea and participate in the same activities.
